Yvonne Shivers

Yvonne Shivers is a highly experienced appellate attorney with an extensive background in criminal and civil law. Since 2004, she has served as Senior Appellate Counsel at Levitt & Kaizer, specializing in defending clients in higher courts.

Previously, she worked at Appellate Advocates and held the position of Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York, gaining in-depth knowledge of litigation and developing effective defense strategies.

Her membership in organizations such as the New York County Lawyers’ Association, Metropolitan Black Bar Association, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers highlights her professionalism and active involvement in the legal community.

Over the years, she has successfully represented clients in numerous high-profile cases, including Lopez v. Miller, People v. Smith, and People v. Taylor, where she secured overturned convictions and reduced sentences.
